Summary

The report, with the theme “The physical condition and emotional meaning of the household”, aims to understand the households that make up Turkish society and the changes they have undergone over the years. In another way, this makes it possible to understand Turkish society through households. For this purpose, the demographic structure of households, their physical characteristics, the emotional meanings attached to households, and practices such as neighborliness and hosting guests are examined. In addition, both the current state of home ownership and tenancy in the society as a whole and the issue of rent, which is a current topic of debate, are addressed.

KONDA Research has been conducting a series of political and social surveys called BAROMETER every month since 2010. In addition to the standard questions on demographic characteristics, political preferences and economic expectations that we regularly ask in each BAROMETER survey, we also ask questions about the public's perspective on the issues that are on the public agenda at the time and to measure their perceptions and expectations in different areas. The survey, the 132nd in the Barometer research series, was conducted on June 4-5, 2022 in 160 neighborhoods and villages of 119 districts, including the central districts of 36 provinces, by face-to-face interviews with 3305 people in their households.
