The report, prepared under the theme “Polarization and distances in Turkey”, examines polarization based on identity in different dimensions. Tolerance of religious differences and gender issues, individuals' fears, their feelings of alienation and their expectations for the future are analyzed. The report analyzes distances to social clusters in Turkey according to voter clusters and demographic breakdowns, and also measures distances to political figures.
KONDA Research has been conducting a series of political and social surveys called BAROMETER every month since 2010. In addition to the standard questions on demographic characteristics, political preferences and economic expectations that we regularly ask in each BAROMETER survey, we also ask questions about the public's view of the issues that are on the public agenda at the time and to measure their perceptions and expectations in different areas. The research, which is the basis of this report, the 127th in the Barometer research series, was conducted on January 8-9, 2022 by face-to-face interviews with 3921 people in their households in 187 neighborhoods and villages of 115 districts, including the central districts of 34 provinces.
