SUMMARY

The report, prepared under the theme of “Affective Leader Polarization,” examines how emotional polarization is shaped around presidential candidates. It also covers strategies within electoral alliances, analyses of negative identification and its impact on candidates’ vote potential, perceptions of election security, voter profiles by voting preferences, and the morale index.

Since 2010, KONDA Research has been conducting a monthly series of political and social studies under the title BAROMETER. In each BAROMETER survey, alongside the standard questions we regularly ask about demographic characteristics, political preferences, and economic expectations, we also include questions aimed at measuring public perceptions and expectations regarding issues on the public agenda at the time and in different areas. The study forming the basis of this 141st BAROMETER report was conducted through face-to-face interviews in respondents’ households: on April 1–2, 2023, with 3,325 people across 175 neighborhoods and villages in 128 districts (including provincial centers) in 32 provinces; and on April 15–16, 2023, with 2,881 people across 154 neighborhoods and villages in 110 districts (including provincial centers) in 33 provinces.
