The report provides a comprehensive assessment of the elections. In the section on numerical analyses, the number of voters, vote distributions, and changes over the years are examined. The analysis of general election votes details party vote shares and voter trends, while the first and second round results of the presidential elections are compared. In the section on ballot boxes, turnout, and Erdoğan’s vote share, voter participation rates, ballot-level differences, and Erdoğan’s performance are evaluated. The analysis of election results by socio-economic development level highlights regional differences and the impact of socio-economic variables on voting behavior. The voter profiles section categorizes voter behavior by demographic factors such as age, gender, education, and income. Finally, KONDA’s public statements from May 11 and May 25 are shared, providing updated findings that support the report’s data.
Since 2010, KONDA Research has been conducting a monthly series of political and social studies under the title BAROMETER. In each BAROMETER survey, alongside the standard questions we regularly ask about demographic characteristics, political preferences, and economic expectations, we also include questions aimed at measuring public perceptions and expectations regarding issues on the public agenda at the time and across different areas. The study forming the basis of this 142nd BAROMETER report was carried out on May 20–21, 2023, through face-to-face interviews with 3,607 individuals in their households, across 154 neighborhoods and villages in 108 districts (including provincial centers) in 34 provinces.
