Political Efficacy

SUMMARY

In this section, respondents are asked four different questions to explore their beliefs about their political efficacy. The questions measure how they perceive their ability to understand and evaluate important political issues, and how confident they feel about participating in political discussions. In addition, by asking their opinions on whether politicians stay in close contact with the public and care about the views of ordinary people, the section examines how their perceptions of political figures influence their sense of political effectiveness:

• I am good at understanding and evaluating important political issues.
• Politicians try to stay in close contact with the public.
• I am confident in engaging in political discussions.
• Politicians care about what ordinary people think.
