In July, inflation expectations for the next 12 months were measured at 83 percent, down 6 percentage points from the previous month. This decline was particularly pronounced among white-collar workers, households of 1–2 people, those who identify as “Traditional Conservative” in terms of lifestyle, and college graduates. The findings also indicate significant correlations between inflation expectations and assessments of the impact of government policies on the economy, the tendency to switch to generic brands when shopping, and the frequency of dining out.
